What is the time between the end of one alert and the start of another?

if an alert is raised and a video of, say, 15 seconds is recorded but the triggering motion continues, how long after the video recording has finished will a new alert be raised?

I haven't tried for an exact timing but it appears to be on the order of 10 seconds, +/-. Part of it may depend on your upload speed - slower could extend that time due to the first recording still being uploaded.

Thank you. I wondered if the delay was configurable somewhere that I couldn’t find, and that prompted my question.

However I can’t imagine that it depends on my upload speed. Surely the base station buffers some amount of recorded video, otherwise the security surveillance would stop whenever the internet connection was down. I hope that is not the case!

There's no buffering by the base - what the camera sends to the base is directly sent to the cloud. That's the purpose of the Pro bases having USB ports that can be connected to a USB drive - if the Internet goes down, the drive still holds the recording.

ANother, better, solution is to use a UPS for your modem, router and base so the Internet never goes down with the exception of an ISP issue. Your network and Arlo would always be powered so recordings continue to go to the cloud.
