What Is The New Symbol In The Upper Right Corner That I Have Not Seen Before?

This morning when I went into the Arlo app there is a symbol in the upper right corner that I have not seen before   It is a red cirlce with what looks like a white shield that has an exclamation point in it    When i click on it  it has "Activate Siren" on it    Does anyone know what this is and why it showed up today?   Thanks

That is the Alarm button.
