VMB4000 Base station LEDs flickering Amber

I looked for a previous occurrence of this fault so it might not be a common occurrence.

 

After a electrical outage my base failed to reboot correctly, just diminished flickering Amber on all LEDs every second.

 

Long story short is the 12vdc adaptor was faulty and was replaced.

 

Measuring the faulty adapter output connection shows a perfect 12vdc using a multi meter but measured 26vac ripple.

 

Lucky I saw this in time as the base could have been badly damaged.

 

So a shout out to those who may experience problems with their adaptors to check for any ac ripple not just the dc voltage.
