I have two Pro2 cameras combined with a VMB4000 Base Station and I'd like to add two more later model cameras.

I want to know if I can mix newer models on the same base station.  I'd also like to know which of the newer cameras have  a better reach for detecting movement than the Pro2 cameras  that only reach  a meagre  12-15 feet

Yes the newer cams are compatible with the 4000. Just remember you need a subscription for cloud recordings on them.  Can't say if detection would be better in the position you have the pro2 mounted as that makes a difference. I had a Pro2 and detected farther then 15 feet you stated. This link list compatible cams

What is the difference between each Arlo SmartHub and base station?
