Wow, that is pretty short at a little over 8 ft. Most of the third party cords are 16 ft and the ones I have are 20 ft. Even in that latter case I had to use extension cords to reach my plugs from the outdoor locations I am using.

Note that these new outdoor adapters are currently only sold in Australia and New Zealand from what I can determine (the above URL is an Australian site).

The black one (is there a white one also?) is listed on the US Amazon site, although it is currently out of stock.
