Whoever came up with this design should be fired. I wanted to charge my camera while it was mounted, so I don't have to refocus evrytime, but the connector is blocked by the tightening washer on the shaft of the mount. Total fail. Why would you design the mount that way????

This was resolved shortly after the Pro cameras were released by using a smaller lock nut on the mount. Seems you have an older mount. You can easily change this yourself by 1) removing the lock nut completely (assuming it's not really needed) or 2) remove the existing nut and use a smaller one from a hardware store. It's a standard 1/4"-20 thread.
