I am seeing 1 yellow bar in my signal strength for 1 of my cameras & would like to increase it. (I have 5 cameras)
I just want to verify, that in order to do this, I would need to buy and install a 2nd base station, closer to that camera. ....Correct?
Besides increased signal strength, what are the benefits to adding a 2nd base station? is their a faster response time?, etc.? What are the drawbacks to having a 2nd base station? Will my phone app work differently?
Thanks!

Yes that would work.
You just add the second base as a new device using the app. Everything will look the same when you view the cameras.
Only drawback is that you cant have rules across bases. If you have no specific rules between cameras on the 2 bases then you will be fine.
Stronger signal means faster uploads and less battery consumption.

What do you mean by "Only drawback is that you cant have rules across bases."
Eaxmples?
Also, I can still use the up to 5 camera plan with 2 base stations?
I am hoping to increase the cameras signal strength and faster image/response time. (less lags & timeouts)
Thanks,
Bill

If you go to Modes- Rules you will see that cameras are linked to a particular base.
So if you want movement on a camera on one base to trigger recording on a camera on the other base then you cant do that. Likewise if you want to manage a base on a schedule then that's on a per base basis!
A base does not count as a camera so no problem having 2 (or more) bases and 5 cameras without having to upgrade your subscription. If at any time you want more than 5 cameras then you can also register another account on the second base and have up to 5 cameras per base using the grant access feature to see them all on the same app. without having to upgrade your subscription.

Actually, recent chages do allow you to use cameras on one base to be used in a rule for cameras on another base. It took a long time to get here but it's working. The Q cameras are the only ones that are still standalone.
