I have a steam vent from our boiler about 20 feet from our camera, right in the middle of the FOV, which I can't change. I guess since these use IR to track people etc, the steam is triggering the camera and recording tens of videos per day, running down the battery sooner than it needs to. Is there a way around this? I have no other position to mount it in unfortunately.
Anyone have a similar issue?
Thanks!

The only answer in your case is to angle down the camera to eliminate the steam vent....
Since the PIR only detects people to a max of 25ft, and the vent is at 20, lower it down so the FOV is in the range where the vent isn't seen.
Or can you extend the steam vent to another location?

Have you tried lowering the sensitivity while ensuring you can still pick up people?
