Hello!

I am replacing older Wifi cameras with Arlos. I don't have power outlets outside adjacent to optimal camera positions but the older ones had regular DC power cords and they were easy to splice to get them through small holes in the wall. Now I have the Arlo outdoor charger and since it is USB-C, is it hard to splice these? I know Arlos run on battery but I'd rather not bring out the ladder several times a year to take the cameras down. I'd have to drill at least 20 mm holes to get the connector through and that's not an option.

Actually it's microUSB, not USB-C.

It's possible to cut and splice usb cables, but it's not recommended or supported by Arlo.

Thank you! I believe that makes things a lot easier. As I understand it, Micro USB only has four wires. But I will do some more Googleing before doing the incision. 🙂
