Just picked up a $500 Pro 2 w/ doorbell (have no idea why this is in here, not even like it’s a camera, just a bell). Doing hours of research and still can’t figure out this *smart subscription plan. I was told it’s free for a year, however it still asks me for a credit card and that it will be charged after only 1 month. Then I hear you have to enter a promo code that came inside the box. I have NO IDEA where this code may be ( not in any manuals, there’s like serial numbers every where ( all different) but if those actually were the code, they all said expired. Are Netgear people actually on here giving answers ?

My guess is the sales person was wrong. The new Arlo Ultra Cameras include a year, but do not have 7 days of free storage. Generally speaking for the previous cameras you can turn on Arlo smart and get a 30 day trial, but then you would have to pay for it.
Unless you need the Smart AI functions just stick with the 7 day free recording.
