For the last few days, the "schedule" is not switching between different modes hours after scheduled times and I'm having to manually select "schedule" option in the app to shift to the proper mode.

First thing I would try is to reset the base ( not full reset, just restart )... test

And if that doesn't help, try deleting the schedule and rebuilding it.
