It helps to buy from a store that supplies the proper adapter in the first place but you can generally use an adapter to match the connectors on the wall and the power supply.

FWIW, the US adapters can handle 220v w/o a transformer (even if the label doesn't say so). But you of course might need an adapter for your power socket.
