I have 2 Arlo Pro 2 cameras connected to a VMB3500 base station. One of the cameras spontaneously went offline while I was out of town. The app just showed something like "it appears this device is offline" or unable to connect or some such. When I got home, I removed and reinstalled the battery and charged it. The camera came back online briefly, but then disconnected again. I tried several more time to remove/reinsert, but got nothing. I swapped the batter with my working camera, still nothing. So I deleted the camera from the app and tried to reinstall/repair. I could not get the pairing light to come on with either fully charged battery. The only light that comes on is when the camera is plugged in, so it will charge, just won't do anything else.
I'm guessing the camera is dead, but as it's only about 14 months old, I'm hoping there might be something else to try? If I'm left with a dead camera, what are my options? Since the Pro 2 is discontinued, cameras I'm seeing online are more than I'd like to pay if they are going to fail this quickly.
Are there any other Arlo cameras being made now that would work with this base station (my search says no, but, would like to confirm) or that don't require a base station? Arlo Essential? I'd like to keep my working camera and just replace the dead one with something. What I liked about the Pro 2 was that I could have video snippets stored locally - I really don't want to pay for a subscription. Thanks for any suggestions or ideas.

Try cleaning the camera and battery connections with contact cleaner.
If no good then reconsider your subscription decision, just be aware that the essential camera battery is not removable.
