Hi!
my husband and I have used Arlo for a number of years and do not pay a subscription. My husband is the prime account holder and grants me access. I have recently changed my phone and now cannot access the system. I have logged out then back in but can’t get past a screen asking me to subscribe to a monthly payment. My husband still has access free of charge. Is it correct that I will now have to pay to access the system even though I am being granted access by my husband? Thanks!

No need to pay for a subscription. It may be fastest to have your husband remove your account to have access and add it again. That means you'll need to accept the invite again.

Start by logging out of your current account on the phone, and logging in with his username/password instead.
After you've confirmed that works, you can get rid of your arlo account altogether using this guide:
