I have my cameras attached to soffit and aimed directly at the walkway to my home. Camera view is from the street to a few feet from my door. All of my views only capture the persons top of their head and their back when they leave.
Motion is very late almost to the point where it’s is useless.
Settings are at highest sensitivity and viewing window full range.

Post a screenshot of the camera view for suggestions. Read the FAQ here on best camera positioning. Motion should be across the FOV, not at the camera.

The entire FOV is set to detect motion.
I still can understand what I’m missing to make it work as intended.

That's not what I said. The PIR sensor always uses the whole FOV to detect motion - it's the nature of the sensor. What I did say is that motion has to be ACROSS the FOV to be best detected, not at the camera. You image definitively shows motion AT the camera which PIR sesnsors will always have a hard time detecting.

Again, read the FAQ here on best camera positioning. It would also be instructive to Google for how PIR sensors work and why motion should be across the FOV.
