What is the functionality of Camera Default Mode Settings? Specifically, how does one use the settings here?

The sensitivity is set to 80 by default, but I've found through testing that setting it to 100 makes very little to no difference, and regardless of how far the object is from the camera itself. I've raised the issue of motion sensitivity before, but just because it's not been addressed, it doesn't mean it's gone away. Some on here asked that an extra 2s is added before the camera stops recording - for continuity - but so far, it's fallen on deaf ears.

With the old interface, you'd have to put these settings into every mode. With "Feed", the defaults are automatically applied whan you add a device rule for the camera to a mode. And you can change these values in one place, rather then editing them in multiple modes.
You can still override the defaults in one or modes if you want to.

Thank you for your response.
If I understand you correctly (comments inserted below):
With the old interface, you'd have to put these settings into every mode. The app (previous version) used to require the sensitivity to be set for any and all modes which the camera was included.
With "Feed", the defaults are automatically applied whan you add a device rule for the camera to a mode. I do not understand the inclusion of "Feed" in the functionality of Camera Default Mode Settings? I think you are saying and I can see after modifying the Arm Home mode, that the current app uses the Camera Default Mode Settings when that device is added to a Mode.
And you can change these values in one place, rather then editing them in multiple modes.
If you change the Camera Default Mode Settings, the changes are applied across any mode the camera is included.
You can still override the defaults in one or modes if you want to. You can override the Camera Default Mode Settings within any given specific mode via Routines | Modes | select mode | select device |
*Note: the sensitivity settings within a mode only shows a slider with Low and High. The Sensitivity setting in Camera Default Mode Settings, has the numeric range 1 through 100.

I have not tested the sensitivity settings, but know that the Arm Home nor Arm Away were detecting motions in this new app. I have found the sensitivity settings within a mode only shows a slider with Low and High. The Sensitivity setting in Camera Default Mode Settings, has the numeric range 1 through 100.
I have modes that I previously could schedule or select, that had different sensitivity settings based on the device's location and the lighting at it's location for the given time of day. e.g. modes-Night, Day, Morning, Midday, Afternoon, etc. This would allow for maximum sensitivity settings for the location/time of day with minimum false positives from shadows, leafs, traffic, etc.

Correct. The new interface ("Feed") does not.

Old interface: "Library".
New interface "Feed".
Calling it an "app update" isn't quite right, since the app has included both "Feed" and "Library" for over two years. Which one you see depends on how Arlo has your account set up in the cloud.

Yes, assuming you didn't manually enter settings in a mode. Anything you manually entered is kept.

Yes. Not the best, as you should get the same precision in both places.
@JamesC - can you pass this on to development?
