My wife and I just purchased an Arlo Pro 2 4-camera set.
We have a neighbor that tresspasses twice a day. We've been using another neighbors Time Lapse Camera to document this. We have a notice from the sherriff that we need to serve the offending neighbor, but didn't want to keep the TLC indefinitely, so we bought the Arlo pack and planned to have it up and running, ready for when we served the papers to the offending neighbor.
The TLC allowed us to set a timer for recording. We could set it to record from 5:30am to 8:30an, and then fom 6pm to 9pm. When I go into the Arlo camera settings, the "schedule" mode seems to only "arm" the motion detection. So, basically, the camera is programmed to be off until the designated time, and even then will only record based on motion detection.
To us, this is a very basic feature. Apparently the TLC was only $50-$80. The arlo cameras . . . are a bit more. We are paying for convenience. The TLC recorded onto an SD which we'd have to go remove, load to PC, review, save to pc, clear SD card, and reinsert to TLC device.
I figured that the abilitiy to record based on schedule must be a subscription thing. I initiated the Arlo Smart Premiere trial. $9 a month to tell my camera to keep recording, ridiculous, but fine. Since the pack came with 4 cameras, I placed one out front temporiraly to test it out, only to find that the offending neighbor is actually stealing our mail aswell. So, $9 a month . . . $20 a month? fine. . . whatever. If it allows my VIDEO camera to record VIDEO, sure. . . whatever to catch this person.
So I subscribed, went into CVR. . . and . . . STILL can't? have to subscribe to Also Smart Prmiere AND spend $20/mnth (PER CAMERA?) to do this super simple task?? There no way!! I'm missing something.
QUESTION 1: How do I get my system to record video constantly during designated time? I.E. record from 5:30am to 8:30am. Idk if Arlo has an ALL OR NOTHING approach with its customers, but I don't want CVR in the sense of recording all day and all night. I just want to record 6hr combined video a day. If it overwrites itself from day to day, thats fine. As long as I 1.) don't have to sit in front of a screen for 6 hrs and 2.) it's not motion detection based as that won't be suffecient for my circumstances
QUESTION 2: How to I set specific modes for specific cameres. Or different schedules for each camera?

varxtis,
The CVR plan (no Arlo Smart Premier) is the closest plan to fit your described needs. For more information on how CVR works, read here: What is continuous video recording (CVR) and how do I get it?
It's important to note that to utilize CVR, the camera must be plugged in using the outdoor charging cable.
The Arlo system functions on a mode per base station basis. This mode will determine how all cameras synced to the base station behave. So this means if you want 1 camera armed and 1 camera not armed, you need to create a custom mode. Within that custom you will then create rules for cameras you want to trigger upon motion and have no rules for cameras you want to leave unarmed.
For instructions on how to create custom modes, take a look here: Arlo Support How do I create a mode with different rules for each Arlo Wire-Free or Arlo Pro Wire-Fr...
