Hi all,
So, for a long time now - I have noticed that there is missing footage (small gaps) in my arlo recordings.
E.g. 10:00 motion detected, 11:00 motion detected (but I know for a fact, at 10:30, the gate was opened, as I also have a Logitech Circle which has the same area in it's view).
It's fairly consistent in performance, but I do note there is definitely a lot of missing footage regularly. It's just missing small gaps... It's not because the motion is different, as it's the same activity (people opening and then walking into my gate onto my property).
It really bugged me and I didn't think it was an Arlo issue, I thought it could be my Internet Setup.
So I upgraded my modem to a decent nighthawk modem but I still experience the same issue. But I don't have issues with my Logitech Circle picking up the motion and recording and that's in the corner of it's view (as it's looking at the vehicle gate.
Am I missing something ? Is this a limitation of the hardware or something, is this what you have to put up with if you want wireless technology ? What can I do to identify the cause of the missing gaps in footage as it's really bugging me now.
My Setup is:
4 x Arlo Pro 2 cameras connected to power and wirelessly connected to the VMB4000r3 base (all up-to-date), base is then wired to modem.
1 x Logitech Circle View (home kit enabled), connected via WiFi directly modem.
My logic so far is it can't be the Internet as my Logitech Circle is able to record footage at that time fine so the Internet must be working.
Looking forward to your replies.

Start by cleaning the front plate of the camera to remove any dust or film buildup. Test again.
Then adjust the motion sensitivity in the camera’s rules for the active mode selected.
Test again.

Just be aware that the arlo Pro 2 cameras initially trigger using a infrared detector located just below the camera lens. It has a max range of 25ft and works best with motion across the FOV.
Note that if you are on the edge of the range (or even beyond it), the camera might still trigger sometimes - just not reliably. Ambient temperature can affect the detection. Clothing can also affect it (though not as much as the ambient temp).
