Is skin necessary if using Arlo Pro 2 outdoors?

Is a skin for the camera necessary if using Arlo Pro 2 outdoors?

The skin is only useful to change the color. The small hood may or may not help with moisture or sunlight on the lens.

Skins aren't needed (and I don't use them myself).
