Inverter

Hello All. New here.  i am running a Business on the Beach. Which we shut down every night and remove all things off the beach. The question i would like to no is, Can i hook up and inverter to a golf cart to run a base station with out internet/only usb drive. This all would be control by a smart phone. Would only record when i need too. Would this work or a waste a time.
