I have a VMB4540 hub and it doesn’t recognise the hard disc I attached

I have a VMB4540 hub and it doesn’t recognise the hard disc I attached, it’s if nothing is connected. The hard disc is a usb 2.0 bipra 2TB FAT32 which I plugged into the USB port in the back of the hub.

Do you get a message that the drive requires formatted? 

 

Did you format the drive using Arlo?

 

Does the disk require extra power that the Arlo USB port may not be providing?

A thumb drive is far more useful than connecting a hard drive. A 64GB drive will hold a lot of recordings before filling at which time you can eject the drive and copy files over to wherever you want for permanent storage.

no message re formatting.

 

usb drive uses usb power and it’s power lamp is lit.

 

the drive came preformatted to FAT32
