we have lost the setting that appear at the bottom of the camera display. Those settings show the amount of charge remaining on the device and the volume of the device etc. these display items have gone dark. Does anyone know why that is?

App or web client? Have you tried both? For the app, reboot the phone and reinstall the app.

My Pro 2 system is behaving the same way.

The base station is experiencing 100% packet loss to 52.50.8.163 and 54.201.14.11 which are the 2 addresses the base station is trying to reach.

Seems like problems with AWS and  Arlo.

If it is a server issue it must be regional or Pro2 issue as My Pro3 cams are fine in Eastern U.S.

BTW, Arlo is currently not using AWS - they are using Cloudflare.

Actually, I believe they are using Cloudflare+AWS, as outlined here: https://www.cloudflare.com/multi-cloud/aws/

The two IP addresses were definitely AWS addresses.  Plus, the AWS service disruption on 15 December also resulted in a service disruption with Arlo.

My problems resolved this morning.

Traceroute to AWS is normal. Zero packet loss.

Cameras behaving normal.

A mod said they don't use AWS back when it went down earlier in Dec. Not sure if he misspoke.

Do you recall who it was?

Not sure but it was one of the two males. It was in response to a poster stating it was related to the Amazon server's problem.
