My geofencing has stopped working for some time now. I'm on Android using the latest 3.8 app. It's not updating my location and still thinking I'm home regardless of location. Yes the permission is allowed all the time. No battery saver. Went through all the check list and it's not longer working. When I go to the geofencing devices, my phone is selected but the arrow is no longer green and greyed out. My wife's phone has a green arrow. I tried restarting the phone. Uninstalled the app, etc. I have Smartthings on my phone and that app is detecting my location fine, it's just arlo is not working.
This is getting annoying. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't

Is your partner’s phone using your account credentials or their own granted access account? When using same credentials you can only have one mobile device logged in at one time.
If you setup geofencing push notifications it will give you indication when mobiles go in and out of zones. This is useful to know that the geofencing is working as it should. Set the mobile device you want to receive notifications at the bottom of the geofencing settings page and enable the geofencing in/out function from the mobile’s settings menu for the arlo app.
Other useful tips are to always have the mobile device plugged into a charger when exiting or entering the geofencing zones as the arlo app geofencing sleeps when not plugged in.
Remember to logout/login your mobile devices at least every two weeks since the app session expires after 15days.
Opening and closing app does not extend the session, only going to the app privacy centre/account/active sessions and logging out all sessions.
If the app session expires you will not know it except geofencing stops working, hence the need to monitor for geofencing in/out notifications.

My wife's phone is granted access. Everything was working up to a month ago.
We actually have two VMB4000 based units each with 4-5 arlo pro 2 cameras attached to each based unit. One VMB4000 based unit is linked to my account and the other base unit is linked to her account. We both have granted access to each of our accounts meaning she has granted access to my account and I have granted access to her account.
The weird thing is my account geofence with the camera and my base unit is working fine with both of our phones working as it should. Only when both our phones leave the area, it arms accordingly and disarms when we return home. However, her account with her base unit and camera have the issue with the geofence. For some weird reason that for the last month, it does not detect whether we are home or away. I do not know if it's a software issue or if it is something wrong with the base unit itself.
The app detects both of our phones on my side, but it does not detect our phones on her side.

Something to do with the base station. You may need to factory reset, remove and reload along with the cameras again.
I do recall reading posts about geofencing not switching to wanted modes because of base station firmware bugs causing mode corruption. The geofencing was working just not switching to the wanted mode.

Ugh. I was hoping that it wouldn't come to that. When I'll get a moment in the next few weeks, I'll give it a try since the cameras are mounted high. I'll keep you updated if it works.
Thanks

Something to consider going forward is not to mount your cameras where you don’t have access, the cameras have buttons and batteries that you need to access. This is all self explanatory if you buy arlo.
There could be another way to fix it, this is what arlo customer support is for,
