Since the quality of the video is now 1080p , what about the battery life , how long the battery can last at best video mode in 1080p , can I sync the new arlo pro 2 into the old base ? How many gb on the sd card support the new base.

Not sure about battery life yet
Yes the Pro 2 camera can connect to the original base or a Pro base or a Pro 2 base
It uses a USB drive, not an SD card, to backup the video. Capacity-wise, your best bet is a flash drive. I know Jguerdat has been using a 1TB HDD but noted that he has to reformat it every time he removes it from the base

Actually I haven't used a hard drive in a long time. I don't recall having to reformat it after unplugging - that may have been a one-time occurance - but it's been too long ago to remember for sure.
I'd use a thumb drive - much easier to manipulate and even a 16GB drive will hold a lot of videos.

You wrote about it in an old thread I found when searching for the max capacity 😉
