Do the cameras have to be within 300 feet of the base unit to work for CVR if the camera is plugged in to outlet? If so, how do you get system to work in whole house?

The only way I know of is to purchase a second base and connect it to an extender, to the satellite in a mesh router or run an ethernet cable from your router/switch to the second base station. Then pair the cameras that are closest to it.

You can centrally locate the base unit for best coverage, or as mentioned above add another base.
Adding bases is the only true way to expand coverage in an area
