Got down to -20 and cameras don’t work. Anyone have a solution? Do those skins work?

The skins would only slightly slow down the cooling. If plugged into AC power, enough heat may be generated to keep things working but you'd have to test.

Need to invent a cover to keep it some what warm. There has to be something the makers of Arlo could do for ppl that live in the north.

The Q cameras are indoors-only but work through glss so you can put them in a window and still get the coverage you need in many cases.

The skins do help a lot if the camera is in the sun, but not at night or in the shade.  I have found my cameras will charge in the sun with skins on and ambient temps are in the teens.  Charging normally shuts off at 32°F.  The black skins absorb the solar radiation and warm the camera slightly.  I assume the skins will help keep the camera running at extremely low temps as well.

To achieve consistent low temperature operation in all lighting conditions, a camera needs to be powered by wires (Direct or POE).  Even electric cars are challenged by extremely low temps and have to expend some energy keeping the batteries warm.
