I have a 128gb microsd card plugged into usb1 port using a usb 2.0 card reader.
when first plugged in, everything looks good, says local storage is ready.
But shortly after (less than 15min after being plugged in), I'll get the flashing USB icon saying my external "Requires Formatting".
Several occassions when trying to reformat the drive, it tries to start but never completes, seems to hang. It requires me to unplug and replug the drive back in to get it recognized again.
What are the minimum requirements for the external USB drive? It seems im having trouble keeping a microusb card formatted and mounted.

Some card readers cause issue when used as the backup usb drive.... or it may be the speed of the mem card.
I've found usb mem sticks are the easiest to use and cause the least amount of issues.
If you want to try, you can format the mem card in a computer ( FAT32 format ) and then try plugging it into the base and see if that helps
