Recently bought the Arlo Pro 2 Smart system with 6 cameras.

Work fantastic!
When my wife and I are both away, all indoor and outdoor cameras are active due to genfencing (had some issues getting the app to recognize the two iphones, but suddenly it worked :-)).
When on of us is home, the outdoor cameras er active from 11 pm to 7 am due to scheduling.

5 cameras upload data to the free Arlo Cloud.
Is it possible to use the 6. camera and only have it save on usb, while the other 5 still upload?
Is it possible to stop using the cloud and have all 6 cameras save on usb?

Kind regards,

Peter

Not sure about your first question, but everything that I have read says you cannot record only to the usb drive...must be to cloud, or cloud AND usb drive.

If you have USB storage and the BASE STATIONS loses INTERNET connection, RECORDINGS should store locally until your INTERNET connection is restored. I have six cameras and don’t want to use a lot of my upload bandwidth.  So I use my FINGBOX to block my internet connection (IP address of BASE STATION) to force recordings to my USB STORAGE. If you have XFINITY their XFI app can do the same thing. You could also block the IP address if you use RESERVERED IP addressing through DHCP or simply hard code the ADDRESS through the ARLO app.  Another option would be to block the MAC ADDRESS of the BASE STATION on you ROUTER/MODEM.  Hope this helps. 👍
