We just purchased two Arlo Pro 2 cameras with the understanding they were battery powered and we could continuously video record (CVR) for 14 days for $99.  It was only when we set it up that we were told that you can only use the CVR function if your cameras are connected to AC power.  I do understand that this would most likely drain the battery quickly without AC power HOWEVER that was not listed in the specs/product description when we were looking for a product. We want the battery power so any potential home invaders can't cut the power (yes that happened to a friend of ours) and want the CVR option since the motion detection has a delay to record when activated (up to 15 seconds!).  Plus the 2 camera package should come with two AC power sources since that is required for the CVR. Now, if we decide to keep it, will require an additional purchase.

Whie the issue of needing AC power can't be overcome, you can have it powered with the battery installed so apower cut won't do anything to the camera. However, in any case, the base needs power so a UPS is needed so your modem, router andbase don't lose power. A working camera is worthless with out the base being operational.

A 15 second lag for recording indicates either poor camera positioning or a weak connection between the base and camera. Read the FAQs here on camera positioning and try different locations.

I think the point was 2 camera system should include 2 ac adapters.  3 should include 3, etc
