Solved: Base station lost cameras, got another base stating, still no devices

I have an arlo 3500 with 4 cameras, they have worked perfectly for about 12 months.

One of the batteries went flat and sometime I have to resync it after replacing battery, this has always gone fine.

Last week I tried to resync my 4th camera, no matter what I did it did not show up in devices, even though the sync seemd to go OK.

I tried factory resetting the unit and the 3 sill working cameras disappeared. I tried for a heile to resync and I could not get any to apprear again.

So I purchased a used unit from ebay, it came today, did factory reset first then tried to add the cameras. Still no luck. The other 3 cameras were working when I could not paid the 4th. Now they have all gone. I figured it must be the base station (3500).  But still will not pair. 

DO I need to buy a NEW base station instead of a used. Or can anyone offer any other tips to get this back up and running please?

All fized, I read the thread 1 or 2 below. Then used the android app instead of windows. It added the a differe way, like the old way, no pressing sync on the base station, just on the camera and use ADD ADD CAMERA through the app. Then I pressed button on camera for 2 two seconds. I wans in another room from the base station, o need to be within a couple of feet like you do when pressing SYNC on the base station.

Manage to add all 4 cameras to the basestation/app (after factory reset on base station.

Now they all show up in the app and in windows.  So problem solved. Not sure why arlo disabled the sync with base station but sync with app definitely worked for me and Ive spent many hours on this headache.
