Hi, I've seen that there still isn't a supplier for the easy fix of replacing the USB port for the ArloPro 2 camera which I still don't fully understand since it seems to be a common enough issue for cameras being used outside and the cable being so easily accessible/replacable. I saw a post where another member of the community by the name of iamTurner wired an electrical connector as a work around fix for this issue. I was wondering if anyone else has done it or atleast understand the overall concept of how it would be done. (what wires to what pins).

It's not that easy a fix.
If the camera still works, then I suggest getting an external charging station, and using that to charge the battery.
Arlo's is here:
There are several third party ones that are a lot cheaper. I haven't ever used one of those, so I don't know how well they work.

as to above;
not to mention an external charging will be a true 100% charge.
If charged internally in the Pro/Pro2 it will charge to about 80% tho read fully charged.
External charge gets 20% more and the camera will last approx 20% longer.

Thanks for the response and advice. I have several camera in hard to access places outside of my home that are connected to arlo solar panels. The outside conditions have rusted the connections between them which have caused them to stop charging. So the external charging isn't really a viable solution.

I wonder if a recall or some kind of remediation from Arlo should exist for this? I have solar panels and the cameras developed the same corrosion problem.
