My Arlo Pro 2 camera isn't recording videos at all but records manual videos and audio detections. Motion detection test shows amber color properly so I know the camera is not defective.
I have read setting up a custom mode may overcome this issue, however I am not sure how to create a custom mode that exactly matches armed mode. My Arlo app has automation to add schedule or add arrive/leave. Is there a way to make an automation to do the same as armed mode?

Your first post suggests that you see "Feed" and "Dashboard" in the app menu, since you talk about automations. Are you seeing "Feed"? Or are you instead seeing "Library"?
There are no custom modes with "Feed". You can modify the three built-in modes, but you cannot add new ones.

Before going too far, try removing one camera from your account and sync it again. That has solved many "not recording" issues.

Hi, I tired removing and resyncing the camera a number of times as well as resetting the base station without any success, for same reason the problem keeps persisting. Thats why I was looking to create a custom mode that seems to work when tested but I cannot replicate the armed mode correctly to work all the times not just specific times or events.

FYI, the Armed mode is set up during installation to be used as a troubleshooting tool but also to be used as needed. The basic configuration should work at any time so a custom mode that duplicates the Armed mode won't do anything useful. Doesn't hurt to try but I wouldn't expect success.
DId you actually reset the base or did you just reboot or power cycle it? There's a big difference in how that works.

Thanks for your reply.
The base was reset so I am puzzled why my no.1 Arlo Pro 2 camera is working fine but the no.2 is not motion detection recording. After exhaustive research the only solution I could find was to make a custom mode for all the cameras to record.

I didnt know that. I have feeds. So the custom mode trick wont work. I'll have to keep looking how to fix this problematic camera issue.

Did you check the "Arm Away" and "Arm Home" modes? See if there is a rule for the problem camera in those modes, and that it is set to notify and record.
Also, I suggest using the motion detection test to confirm that the camera is detecting motion. Instructions are in this guide:

Motion test works correctly as I can see amber light .
The rules look the same for both cameras in the armed modes.
Whats also weird is that the problem camera doesn't charge the battery, I have to put it in the working camera to charge it.
So it looks like now that the camera may be faulty.
