Hello,

I have 4 such cameras for a few years. In the last months, one of the cameras (connected to power constantly and has a battery inside which is fully charged) is not detecting motion as before and also doesn't record or trigger an alarm as in the past. Sometimes it does detect motion and record, but it used to be much more sensitive.

Nothing has changed in the setup or positioning, the firmware is the latest for both the devices and the hub.

I have tried following up the suggestions in the forum here. I prefer not to touch anything in the device itself as it's mounted quite high in a place which is not that convenient to reach.

Please advise what to do. Very disappointing..

It's certainly possible that the camera is failing. However, I think some physical access is going to be needed (one reason Arlo suggests a height of 7-8 feet above ground). You could possibly swap cameras around so this one is easier to reach.

First, since it likely hasn't been touched in some time, carefully clean the face of the camera - lens and the whole face to ensure there's nothing blocking the PIR sensors. It could be quite dirty.

Test the camera while in a different location to see how it behaves. If better, it would seem to possibly be the location as the problem, perhaps with something interfering with the signal.

The last step would be to remove the camera from your account and sync it again. There's a chance it won't sync but that would just likely prove that the camera is dying.
