Batteries draining like crazy and my night vision is very poor any suggestions?

Are the cameras maintaining their connection to the base?  Or are you seeing off-line indications?

Easy thing to try is remove the camera ( remove device in settings ) , pull battery and then replace same and finally add camera back.

It rebuilds the default settings in the base for your cameras.
