Arlo Pro 2 CVR record to base station?

I know the Arlo Pro 2 will give the option for cloud based CVR with the subscription but can it also do CVR to the drive plugged into the base station? Can it do CVR to the base station without the subscription?

CVR is only recorded in the cloud. There's no option to record locally except after the fact with 3rd party software.
