Hello,

I would like to buy an extra camera to connect with my Pro2 base station.

As Pro 2 cameras are not anymore available I can buy an Arlo Essential spotlight camera VMC2030-100EUS.

Is this the right choice in this case?

The Essential Spotlight has similar specs to the Pro 2.  One difference is that the Essential has an integrated battery that is not user-replaceable.

You should check if your base is compatible here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility

If the base is not compatible, the Essential could still be added to your system, as it can be connected to your home wifi.

One thing you should be aware of - all the newer cameras (starting with the Ultra in 2018) require a subscription to get cloud storage.
