I have the Arlo pro 2. When I bought mine it didn't need a subscription.  I'm in Best Buy right now looking at the video door bell since 3 of us tenants ended up finding broken eggs in our mailboxes this morning. My question is if I add the video doorbell 2nd generation model AVD4000 to the hub   will it work with that and do I need a subscription just for that camera. Thank you

    So not compatible with any of the video doorbells.

First, you can connect the doorbell to your home wifi, so you don't actually have to connect it to the hub.  That assumes you get a good wifi signal at the doorbell location.

What model hub do you have?  The compatibility list is here:

You would need a subscription to get cloud recordings for the doorbell.

@NanC2

The motion detector range for the doorbell is much shorter than the pro2 Cameras so unless the letterbox is within 6ft of the doorbell location it would not pickup any motion.

Thank you Stephen. I think the Hub model is VMB3500. I didnt get anything that day. My guess is , the mailbox is farther than 6ft  from where the doorbell would be. Not sure what im going to do.

Thank you Danny. I think the distance would be 8ft
