Arlo cameras are designed to trigger on detected motion or audio. Within your modes and rules, you have options to select fixed recording durations (up to 5 minutes) or recording until activity stops (up to 5 minutes).
If you're using the option to record until activity stops, it's important to note that the motion occurring in the cameras field of view must remain detectable or the recording will stop and a new recording will start when the camera detects motion again. If the event that caused the camera to trigger initially is no longer within the cameras PIR range, the recording will stop at the point motion was no longer being detected.
