Leaving the house to go on holiday, opened the app to set all devices armed AND EVERY BLOODY THING has changed. Where are all the routines I set up. Where is the interface  I know and understand

And I'm now guessing that applying an update a while ago has stopped everything working including alerts and I see that 2 devices have low battery. As I walk out the front door to go on holiday for 2 weeks.

Utter utter **bleep**.

The community would have helped you set up everything on the new user interface, had you been a bit better organised.

Well of course

It's entirely my fault for having an update that trashes everything I've set up, not being told about it, and having the absolute temerity to not realise that Arlo has unilaterally changed everything until just as I go out the front door on holiday.

And I always feel the nark of a good software update is that you need support to use it.

Fantastic reply, thank you so much and I'll make a point of canceling my Arlo subscription the minute I get home.

We would be more than happy to help you set up the modes how you would like them. If you provide a little more information of how you are wanting these set up we can walk you through it when you are back from vacation.

Spot on. I am experiencing the exact same nightmare, and I’m completely done with Arlo after 8 years.

You are definitely not alone in this. It is incredibly frustrating and genuinely stressful that a routine update can completely break a home security system right before you go on holiday, leaving your home exposed while you're away.

I hit the exact same wall. I suddenly realised my notifications had completely dried up, and when I went in to investigate, I discovered geofencing had totally stopped working.

The way this company is handling it is completely unacceptable. Their virtual assistant (whether they are using Intercom or Zendesk) is an absolute joke. If you try to type standard, high-intent phrases like "Raise a formal complaint," the bot's logic completely breaks and it just loops right back to the beginning. They are intentionally gatekeeping human interaction and forcing us onto community platforms to air these grievances because they've locked live expert support behind a paid subscription paywall. If you don't pay, you're trapped dealing with a broken chatbot, even though they openly admit on their support channels that they know the iOS geofencing update is broken.

The new leadership's obsession with forcing paid memberships has completely ruined the UI/UX. The app has devolved from a premium security utility into a bloated, broken ecosystem that prioritises upselling over basic functionality.

Breaking core features, offering zero working customer service, and ruining the user experience right when people need it most for holiday travel is the ultimate betrayal of customer trust.

I am already looking into moving away from Arlo entirely. They've traded long-term loyalty for short-term subscription metrics, and they've left the door wide open for competitors.
