Does anyone know how long the battery last before needing to buy another one. I'm talking about the life span not how long it will keep the system going in a power outage. Also is it a good idea for maintenance to unplug the security hub and let it run off of the battery once in a while. Arlo only provides at best bare bones documentation. Thanks Gary

That's a hard answer to give without more knowledge as to the internal battery/charging system....

But assume it is as normal for arlo and that the battery is ok sitting at a float charge of 80% of full.

Normal charge cycle for li-ion batteries are in the 300-500 range for full charge BUT when charged to a lower rate number of charge cycles can be increased.

I would estimate at least 3 yrs plus.

lithium-ion cell charged to 4.20V/cell typically delivers 300–500 cycles. If charged to only 4.10V/cell, the life can be prolonged to 600–1,000 cycles; 4.0V/cell should deliver 1,200–2,000 and 3.90V/cell should provide 2,400–4,000 cycles.
