Will the battery backup work without buying a subscription for the cell phone backup?  I only want to use the battery backup without an additional charge.

Battery backup duration will vary with device settings, use, activity captured and environmental factors. Cellular backup requires an Arlo Professional Monitoring paid plan after trial period.
