Ok I'm thinking about removing the battery because the cold weather is draining it. First I couldn't charge it because it was to cold, the app said. It was about -2 Celsius here.

When AC power is applied, the battery shouldn't be used at all - it runs off the connected power. Are you using the Arlo/Netgear-supplied charger and you get the proper power icon (battery with a lightning bolt or a wall plug)? Something's not right if the battery is draining.
