To what distance will the Arlo Go camera record identifiable footage?
Kind regards,

The GO is 720 rez...and 130d angle so it its sort of a wide view.
But, your answer depends on what type of ID your looking for...
If your looking for face and photo type id of a person 15ft or so...If you looking to id a car type then 50 ft or so.
Car plate... prob not , esp if moving
There are two types of cameras ( from my installation days ),
1) activity - this is more of the type of Arlos... wide angle, see a large area, AND you'll know what happen when. Down side is the camera isn't good enoungh to get a good id picture ( unless close ot cameras)
2) Id camera - these cover a small area like a door way only... tight FOV, so when a subject enters it view you get a good picture. Down side is since the FOV is tight, if the person doesn't enter the view, you get nothing
Installs for good coverage require both types.
Best bet is NOT to cover more area then the camera can sense...which is about 20-25ft for a peson. ( I keep mine down to 15ft +/- )

How do you shorten the distance

You don't "shorten the distance" - you decrease sensitivity in you rmodes/rules or rotate your cameras down so only a small area is in view.
