We have an Arlo Go at another location. I was able to get the mic icon finally on my phone by uninstalling and reinstalling the Arlo app. My wife used to have the mic icon and lost it

We have logged in and out. Uninstall and reinstall app and hard reset. Logged out runinstall reinstall and turned phone off and back on. Still no mic
What’s next?

you did the normal uninstall and reinstalll... that usu fixes the issue.

 

What phone and OS are you running ?  It may make a difference.

 

Contact Netgear support and file a trouble report , If it's a newer phone, they may not be aware of the issue.

( can't fix wht they don't know )

Is she logged in using a shared account via the Grant Access feature? If so, be sure the "Allow Access Rights" toggle is switched on to allow mic access.
