I just REMOVED two ARLO Go 2 LTE Cameras from my rdilauro@gmail.com 3 month trial account.

I installed them on our master ARLO account  arlomaster@someemail.com (protect the actual email address) and I have them up and running.   No problems.

I can do all the adjustments needed and was surprised to see that all the settings I had on those cameras on my other account were saved in the new account (ie motion sensitivity,)

BUT I did find out that under MODE, I cannot ARM these cameras to use VIDEO.  I get an error message indicating that I need to upgrade my CLOUD subscription.   I would have just assumed since the master account already is paying monthly including CLOUD that adding a new camera would just include any cloud requirements.

Is there something specific we need to do to add more cloud coverage for these new cameras.  The existing ARLO subscription is for multiple cameras (we had 12) which all can use cloud.  But its just the new cameras adding can not.   I need to figure this out, because in the next week I will be adding 4 more ARLO Ultras to these account.

Thank you in advance..   And I still say that the response I have been getting from the ARLO team, specifically Stephen has been great.   He is very patient with me being so new to the ARLO configurations.

Go into "manage cameras" in the subscription area.  Likely the Go 2 cameras are listed under "no plan".  If so, drag them into the subscription plan list.

Best to do this with a PC (browsing to my.arlo.com).

I went into Manage cameras.  It appears that under our subscription plan, we can have up to only 5 cameras recording in the cloud.

We have:

Arlo Smart Elite Multi Camera:  5 Cameras

Elite : 1 Camera

No Plan: 4 Cameras

But each of them say either 4K or 1080p recording.

I moved two of the cameras (Tennis and Golf) to NO PLAN and move the monitor of our stored boats to the Arlo Smart Elite.

But essentially what is the difference between Smart Elite, Elite and No Plan if they all say recording.  But recording where?   If I am reading the options correctly, before I had Camera #8 in the Smart Elite plan, under ARMED I could not record a video.  Now that its in the plan, I can record.  So that recording is cloud recording - correct    If not in the cloud, what that recording be done to a SD disc if one was present?

Let's start here.  You have an older plan (Smart Elite) which had a 5 camera limit, and then augmented that with a single camera Elite subscription.

Last July Arlo created their current plans (Arlo Secure and Arlo Secure Plus).  Arlo Secure Plus has the same monthly cost as the old Arlo Smart Elite, but now has unlimited cameras.  Your best option is to cancel the Elite plan(s), and get the new Arlo Secure Plus  Multicamera.  Monthly cost would be $14.99, and it would cover all your cameras (present and future).

Elite and Smart Elite are the same thing.

"No Plan" newer cameras won't record to the cloud, though they would record to local storage.  That includes Pro 3, Pro 4, Ultra, and Go 2.

"No Plan" older cameras would give free 7-day cloud recordings.  That includes the original Wire-free HD camera, the Pro, Pro 2, and Go cameras.  Based on your earlier posts, I don't think you have any of these cameras.

Stephen,

Great info.

Since I have 5 Cameras in the Old Arlo Smart Elite Multiple cameras and 1 camera in Elite plan and the rest with no plan.

1. Cancel the ELITE plan.

2. Update the SMART ELITE to  ARLO SECURE MULTI-CAMERA

Then when that is done ( I assume it can all be done online, at least it seems that way), then all my current cameras (10) and plan to install at least 4 more will be automatically in the Arlo Secure Multi-Camera plan at $14.99 without me having to change anything technically.  I assume I might need to move some of the cameras into the new plan as you suggested I do for the camera that had no plan.

One last question.

I have two ARLO Go 2 that we use in the open ballfield (need cellular service).   But when I move them from No PLAN to the 5 Unlimited (for now) they will record to the Cloud.   Just want to verify this.

I want to make this change now, but I have to wait until Monday, when the Admin person is in.   She will agree, no question, but its their credit card not mine 🙄

Correct.  It's possible you'll need to cancel the smart elite plan, and re-subscribe.  They will refund whatever is left for the month (pro-rated).

I  just changed plans.  The suggested recommendation was to go with the Arlo Secure Plus package at $14.99 month.

The change happened instantly and right now the 9 active cameras are under the plan and video recording.

I have 5 more Ultra's I am planning to put in this week.

StephenB,  thank  you for your tip about switching!
