I recently purchased a third-party internal battery off of Amazon due to it having something like three times the mAh as the stock Arlo Go 2 internal battery. I'm looking for every solution possible to extend the life of my cameras, and I figured this would be one.
Issue is, once installed, this camera seems to no longer accurately report its battery level in the app and web portal. The battery shows the percentage the stock battery was at before I swapped it out, and doesn't change. This is a big issue because I need to know when my battery is at a low percentage so that I can make the trip to a remote location and change it.
Has anyone used a larger (at least 10,000 mAh) battery that does accurately report the battery percentage in the app? If so, what is it? I'd be interested in buying it. It's really a shame that Arlo itself doesn't offer a larger battery.

As was found in the early Arlo days when we tried using various mega-mAH batteries, they lied. It's physically impossible to add that much more chemistry into the same size package. There were numerous claims of >2000mAH batteries when in actuality the best you could get was more like 750mAH.
In addition, the inability to report battery level isn't unique to any particular manufacturer. As a Canon camera user, I've noted the efforts Canon has gone to due to scam batteries causing various issues. The latest cameras won't even work except with official Canon batteries.
Rather than expecting miracles with an internal battery, you could use the outdoor power adapter if power is available. If not, there's the solar panels which may or may not be sufficient. Lastly, you could look into battery packs that could be attached as if it were connected to AC power. A key here would be to find one that does not turn off with very low current draw. This battery would keep the internal battery charged so you'd just need to charge the power pack instead (or swap between 2 such packs).
