Do you still have to use the battery if you are going to use the power cord

No but what happens if the power is cut for some reason? The battery keeps the camera working.

Thank you. I have resolved my problem I bought an extra long cord and an Anker 335 power bank and it will charge my camera so I don't have to drag extension cords across my yard anymore or take the camera down. That made me a very happy camper 😊
