essential spotlight blue light connecting does not work

I found that when my essential spotlight dropped connection, I had trouble reconnecting. The blue light would blink a few times but then go solid...app would not find it to connect...It was solved by, instead of holding activation button on bottom of camera for 3 seconds, holding button for 60 seconds....I believe that it does a "hard start"...amber light blinks, blue light blink and then it connects...camera connected quickly after that.
