What can I do without a secure plan?

We got 2 essential cameras a few months back and guess the trial period just ended.  So am I correct that without a plan you can only see it live as it is happening?  Ours has a lag time, and if we do not look at the exact minute it happens does that mean we dont see anything?  We dont need to "store" recordings, but would like to be able to view it still.

Confused I guess, a relative has multiple arlos and she said they dont pay for any plan and have no problem.

ANy camera newer than the Pro 2 (starting in 2018) requires a subscription for cloud recordings, which is why you got the 3 month trial sub. If the trial has expired, you either need to subscribe to a plan or buy a SmartHub (VMB4540 or VMB5000) to connect the cameras to which will allow you to set up local recordings on a thumb drive or microSD card, respectively. Local recordings don't work like the cloud recordings and are more limited so you need to decide what the best solution is for your usage. So if a notification comes up on my phone about person detected, unless I was already sitting there just watching the live stream at that same time, I wont be able to view the recording without a plan now?

Correct.  There is no recording to view w/o a plan.
