What are my options after trial ends

What are my options after trial ends if I don't choose to purchase a subscription?

Is it

-buy an sd card

-install it in camera

-periodically take out sd card and put in laptop to view recorded movements?

The Essential cameras don't have a microSD slot, so this cannot be done.  (Neither do the Pro cameras or the Ultra).

The main alternative to a subscription is to purchase a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub, and install storage in the smarthub.  The camera(s) are then connected via the closed wifi system in the smarthub.  These two hubs support "direct access to local storage", which lets you see locally recorded footage in the app.  That has a lot of limitations, and IMO you are better off getting the subscription.  If you want more info on them, just ask.
